Urgent help required from the PH community

My father in-law's x308 XJR is in having it's headgasket replaced. The garage have got one on order from jaguar but they have been told that it won't be in at jaguar until next Thursday.
The problem with this is that we are taking his new x350 (ex pher owned funnily enough) down to Goodwood next weekend but the x308 is being part exchanged against it.
So as a last minute plea, has anyone by any chance got one or know where I can get one at short notice?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Your garage can't source a headgasket? FFS...
How hard can it be?
Try British Car Parts or Berkshire Jag Compoments or David Manners or SNG Barrat - sorry not got contact info to hand but Google will be able to help.

I think I owe you a drink after all of the advice I've had from you so far!
Will let you know how I get on
Head gaskets in stock at David Manners, should have them at the garage by tomorrow, thanks very much!
ETA They weren't Jaguar parts they were 3rd party, also SNG haven't got the Jaguar ones in at the moment either. The garage aren't happy about fitting 3rd party bits as they haven't got the guarantee they would have had from Jaguar.

Surely a professional garage should either STFU and fit the gasket without whinging or if they really are justified in having a problem with aftermarket parts flatly refuse under any circumstances to do so?ETA They weren't Jaguar parts they were 3rd party, also SNG haven't got the Jaguar ones in at the moment either. They'll know anyway that any guarantee from Jaguar - or any other parts supplier for that matter - will be almost certainly limited to the cost of a replacement gasket only, and even then it'll be a toughie or more likley absolutely impossible to prove that the gasket was at fault and any problem that may occur in the future is not due to poor workmanship instead.
but..
if you're p/x ing it next week anyway so long as it starts and drives 'till then..Gassing Station | Jaguar | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
