Bolting on a supercharger....???

What would it cost to fit a supercharger to an XK8....?

Where would be the best place to have it done... Paramount?

Would be 1000 times cheaper to sell XK8 and buy XKR.

Just as a ball park figure, the supercharger conversion kits for the Holden/Vauxhall V8's are about £7k.

I'm not sure that the difference between an XK8 and an XKR amounts to just £7 though.... so I'm guessing you exaggerated that

It wouldnt really make financial sense as TT said.

Maybe if you got a very cheap rolled or vandalised XKR & an XK8 with a blown engine, but even then you`d be in for a world of pain & financially it`d be boarderline...

Is appears to be lowered and wearing a body kit - please tell me more.
It has the vents - it is an R I presume?
Have you had the supercharger pulleys fiddled?

I was going to recommend that you had a chat with NormanD, BTW he is in business with Tom, I believe (I haven't ever dealt with him personally but people here have and I've never heard anything bad). There was an article about Norn's XKR in Jaguar World a short while back, there is a picture of it on the cover can't miss it.

Don't know if they've fitted a SC to an NA car, but the SC that is on Norman's car has nothing to do with the one that Jaguar fitted, it is a much more efficient twin screw kind. So they have experience of totally re-plumbing these things.

As others have said it would probably be cheaper to sell the XK8 and buy an already built R. Or buy an R engine and gear box and electronics pack and fit that. There are probably more bits needed to complete the transformation. Usually if you add more power you need to add more braking too.

I've been chatting with a friend today as I've always admired these cars and they are starting to look very good VFM at the moment, I would love to know how good they are and how they can be made better

Could be do-able but a lot of hassle and unless you have a machine shop and time to do all the work yourself I reckon you could do it for less than a thousand pounds. To do it as a customer you can times that by 5

Why not make it a manual and stick 8 throttle bodies on it
