Supprised no one has replied yet on here, although there are 160
plus comments on the preview pages.
If it's just another design concept then no praise or criticism is worth the effort or emotional investment that seems to be going on.
I suspect though it has something to do with the latest mumblings of an F-Type.
As when the ALC was unvieled, from which we got the X150 XK range.
First impression on seing the preview was positive, but the closer you study it, you realise it follows all the generic atributes that most manufacturers are blinkered by.
Any good design team, shown a few pictures of past Jaguar designs could have produced equal if not better offerings. There is nothing remarkable about any of Ian Callum's offerings, he just happens to be the person jaguar have passed the batten to, to move the company forward, regardless if that brings beautiful inspired new Jaguars, or cars that will sell because they look half decent and fit the mass market appeal.
This latest car falls short in looks in some ways, but has elements taken from past greats that could be reborn in a truly beautiful new sports car. Unfortunately I think we are stuck with the [shark mouth] front end that is the company's new face.

A pity that the lovely concept cars they seem intent on producing all the time never make it to the road. Frankly I don't know why they bother; it's a very expensive way to get PR. And when the super-sexy 0-100 in 3 secs V12 doesn't appear, and they say 'Oh actually we made this slightly ugly four door diesel instead' the crowd goes away.
My guess is that this C-X75 will in fact be the XK replacement due in 2013. The current XK is a newer version of the old one, aluminium instead of steel, same engine, although now larger. I think with this 'design' statement, Jaguar are 'introducing' us to the future of things to come. I really like it, (not sure about the nose, but that seems to be the same issue I have with all Callums cars!
)
Anyway, it looks like cars are going to get pricey at Jaguar.............

Brilliant stroke to announce it with no warning at the Paris Show.
I think that it is superb. Hard to fault from any point of view. I liked the Lawson era Jags a lot - but I have to admit there was a deliberately old fashioned feel to them. Callum's cars are not only into the future, but they have made Jaguar once again a world leader. It is just like the old Sir Wiliam Lyons days - and I remember them well.
