Just got a letter from Jaguar (Rybrook) asking me to join their Customer Satisfaction Program (number K061!!). Saying they want to carry out enhancements on your vehicle at no cost, will take approx 3hrs.

Wish they would right in English and explain....any one wiser than me explain exactly what this is? Not a recall but a recall??

I think they only have proper official recalls for safety stuff, when legislation forces them to do it. Everything else comes under this banner. I suppose it makes reliability look good to have fewer recalls. Not one of the many problems with the ZF6HP26 gearbox over the years has resulted in a recall, just loads of "complimentary updates".

Yep as above, official recalls are safety related and have to follow strict Department of Transport guidelines.

You may well be getting a software upgrade or similar.

I would be interested to know what the change is.

I don't know if the XF upgrade is anything like the S-Type upgrade I posted about, but it's interesting to see that the XF forum explains the three hours as 'the technician doesn't want to be rushed' while my dealer said it was for 'the engine to cool down'. The latter makes more sense to me.
