Contemplating changing these without taking shocks fully off the car.

With car on ramp, weight on wheels, the lower mount bolt can be removed and then shock extends about 3" below the lower arm.

Question: How much force is it going to take to press out the spherical brg? Is it achievable with theaded rod (say M12) washers etc? Or will the shock need to come right off the car and taken to a hydraulic press?

Any tips from those who have successfully done this job would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Peter

Can be done, I have done it many times on XKs, does require some turned up parts to do properly but you could get over it with sockets.

I nicked a pic off one of the forum guys who drew up what I use

Thanks XKRacer. That's the type of set up I was thinking of, using large cillection of sockets, pipes, washers, etc... Glad to hear it is possible and doesn't need 5 tons or something daft.
Cheers
