E Type V12

Anyone fitted a five speed box to the V12?
What improvements mpg/performance.

I have fitted a few to the V12 E. It is a minefield the 5 speed market so I won`t suggest anyone.The figures the client got back in MPG was approaching 30 on a run.

Nope, but if you can find one a cheaper solution is an XJ6 O/D box. A friend fitted one (it meant shortening the prop shaft though) and he got more mpg on a run through France than I in my 3.8. Bad reports on the Getrag 5 speeder since they were apparently built for power not torque and can fail, plus parts being difficult to find now. Seems the Toyota or Ford boxes are the favourites, but I am somewhat out of date.
