Don't leave the keys inside the boot of your XF
Discussion
Same goes for the S-Type.
I came very, very close to doing it when I arrived at the bride's parent's house at the start of a day's wedding photography. There were several cars on their (small) drive so to get the Jag off the busy road I'd parked it smack in their gateway. Took camera bag out of boot and went to announce myself; they said where I could park the car safely. Went back to the car - doors locked. Felt in pocket for keys - no keys. Keys could be locked in boot. Cold sweat. f
k. All my gear locked inside the boot and their driveway blocked as well? It was pure luck that I'd taken my camera bag out of the boot on arrival and left it on the doorstep - with the keys on top of the bag. Were it not for that, not only would I have been unable to get to the wedding, neither would the family. I'd have ruined their day as well as mine - and had to give them a substantial refund.
Now I NEVER shut the boot without first making sure I have the keys.
I still shudder just thinking about it.

That shouldn't have happened!
There is an anti-lock device on the car that shouldn't let you lock it with the fob in the car. For the key less entry, it will bleep twice if you try and lock the doors and on all models, on closing the boot lid with the keys inside, it should cause the car to bleep twice and automatically pop open the lid. When I got my first XF I spent 10 mins trying to close the boot, to the point of slamming it down as hard as I could, but it would still pop back up. It was then that I realised the wife's handbag was in there with the spare fob. So if you managed to get locked out, a trip to your dealer could be in order.

All I can say is that it did happen. Worse - it was in the snow before Xmas and they (wife, inlaws and children) There is an anti-lock device on the car that shouldn't let you lock it with the fob in the car. had all just thrown their coats in the boot as well

Do you have to activate this feature ? or should it be automatic ?
