A couple of XKR questions....
Discussion
I had a sit in a friends XKR Convertible today... got me thinking!
I've had two XKR Convertibles in the past, the old, old, shape:

However I'm now a bit out of touch with the latest model, which I thought looked superb.
I would probably buy second hand as this is a personal buy rather than through a company and I wondered if someone who knows might be able to summarise the model (cosmetic or other) changes between say, 2009 and now.
My chums had, for example, keyless entry and an iPod connector - I guess stuff like this is now standard?
Interestingly, and as a footnote, he got out of a DB9 which he'd had for two years to get into to the XKR - thinks the Jag is a better car, but could never openly admit such a thing!
Early 2009 is when the facelift happened which brought many benefits including the 5.0 engine with a lot more power, clever diff and much better adaptive ride, and interior improvements including the pop-up gear selector. There haven't been any changes since then that I'm aware of. iPod connectivity and keyless entry are standard, in fact the spec is very high without resorting to the options list. Bluetooth hands free phone and sat nav are standard, and the audio system isn't bad either, heated and cooled seats, heated steering wheel, etc etc. The one thing that probably should be standard but isn't is DAB.
As Steve-P says the facelifted 5.0 XKR's now come with all the stuff you really want as standard fit, (off the top of my head) options that are factory order only include : Adaptive cruise control, adaptive headlights, garage door opener, DAB. The cars also had some aerokit options, a chin splitter and a large rear boot spoiler, but the ones to go for right now IMHO are the 'Speed Pack' editions, these have the full aerokit as seen on the older 4.2 XKR-S. There is a fabulous black one in the Approved used section' on the main Jaguar website. Looks gorgeous......
