Engine management light is on

While the management light is on it is in total limp mode
Today I replaced the battery as diognostic received no reading and the start was totally flat
Having the battery replaced it has not reset itself and still in limp mode
Any answers? Please

Now that it has a fully charged battery, tell what codes have been read.

That's after you tell us what model of car you are talking about, of course.
