Hi,

2014 Jaguar xf sportbrake radio not working.
Started with the DAB and now the radio doesn't work at all.
SAT nav seems to have gone and the beeping from the parking assist doesn't sound anymore.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

Have you just fitted a rear dashcam to the rear window? Some dashcams knock out DAB and GPS

I have fitted a dash cam, but it has been in for 10 months without issue.
I know dash cams can kill DAB, but the regular radio has stopped working as well

Oddly enough I have six LED panel lights in my kitchen and DAB is unaffected whilst FM is swamped with white noise. There's no clear rule.

Do you know anyone with a SDD installation (Jaguar official diagnostics - free to download with a trial version)? Sounds like you might be having intermittent or permanent loss of connection in the MOST fibre-optic network which would cause some/all of these issues. SDD would show you a diagram of the modules and verify the integrity of the connections between them.

I don't, but I'll have to check round local garages.
Fingers crossed

If you have a half decent laptop you could probably download and install it yourself. You can get a clone J2543 USB/OBD adapter (aka Mangoose, because the genuine item is called mongoose and costs about £800) for about £20-£30 to use with it.

I wouldn't trust the clone cable for doing any module programming or updating, but for fault tracing/code reading they are absolutely fine.

PS. Don't spend any extra on cables that come with SDD software. It will be an old, redundant version with no extra benefit. The free version is fine for diagnosis and if you want to do anything more with it there are code generators available for unlocking engineering mode. SDD is now pretty much abandonware.

Wow! I called it.

First thing to do is check the Bluetooth and DAB modules under the passenger seat carpet as they can sometimes get water damaged. Might be an idea to get a MOST bypass loop cable - unplug the modules and put the bypass loop in and see if the problems clear. The fact that the DAB went first point to it being the most likely culprit.

Amazon.
