Hi
Im am looking at buying either a boxster or and v6s f type. Most of the cars i am looking have around 60k miles on the clock and are a 2013/14 model year.
Is there anything i need to look for with a car of this age ?
I have read about injector issues. How common is this ?
The car will best used on weekends and sunny days. I have mainly had bmw m or amg cars in the past so any help from owners would be great .
Thanks in advance

Injectors as you say. There’s a ‘Y’ pipe in the valley that cracks with age, but should have been done by now. Rear subframes can corrode. And at that age then suspension bushings will need looking at, especially the banana arm. Some suffered with sticky interior buttons.

Thanks for the response. Nothing too scary i guess. The injector issue does worry me. I wonder if its something that happens to every car

It’s to do with water getting in through the vents. Later cars with 4wd had the vents moved. I believe you can get kits to divert any water. So you’d just need to make sure the injectors have been out at some point.

The issue doesnt seem to be failing injectors specifically, the problem arises if/when an injector does fail, and its corroded in and a big pain to get out. It can be done by someone who knows what they are doing , but if its not done properly and the injector snaps, then its a removal of the head, and this of course then escalates the time to do the job and the cost.

How common is it Mike ? There are a few V6 Boys who occasionally pop up on here and its seldom encountered .

You realise that Porsche Ownership can also be fraught with issues depending on what Model of Boxster you go for Matty with IMS Bearings etc . All well documented . I mention this only on a price comparison basis because Porsche parts and labour charges aren't cheap
