Basically I’m aware of the issues with the actuators failing.

My drivers door and rear left ones must have failed as when I’m inside the car and press the lock button, the small Part of the chrome handles don’t move.

Similarly when I lock the car with the fob outside, I get the 2 beeps and with the keys far enough away (keyless entry), those 2 doors will open when I pull the handle and alarm will go off.

My question, whilst I wait to get them replaced (don’t fancy DIY), can those doors actually be manually locked using the emergency key?

I know the alarm will go off if anyone pulls those handles but I don’t sleep easy knowing the doors can actually be opened

Try locking the rear door by pressing the small chrome handle in, if that works then open the drivers door window and lock that door by using the same method and then close the window using global window close from key fob.

I have heard tell of them locking manually but not being able to then unlock them, and of course not being able to get inside the door to sort it out because the door is stuck shut.

Not happened to any of the million cars I've owned with this same stty actuator though.]

Only the drivers door has the emergency key mechanism I believe.

It's the passenger door in the UK that has the emergency key.

Funnily enough after posting that I saw an X150 on BCA and noticed the emergency key cover was off and on the passenger side, checked an XF, then came here to say that!

Yeah it’s the passenger door in the UK weirdly

The parts are £80 for both doors all in on eBay and my local indi has quoted 3-4 hours to do both so I’m going to go down that route

There’s loads of YT videos on it but I don’t trust myself to not drop the glass or something if I DIY 😂

I'd be interested to know how it goes, those chinese £80 door modules could go either way really.

Who is the indy, that's not a bad time at all to do both given how fiddly it looks.

Ironically they have a longer warranty than the Jag OEM ones. I'd probably have to go full Jag if I was from the US with big Don's 104% tariff on China..

Up to 2 hours per door seems normal. The videos on YT are around half an hour for a door and although some unscrewing is cut from the uploaded video, i'd imagine they're still under an hour

Just done this and confirmed it’s definitely these two doors. As soon as I locked it the wing mirrors closed in and no double beep

Thanks! I’ll leave the rear door locked as nobody ever gets in the back really

The dealership I bought it from has agreed to pick up the parts and labour costs, given I have only just bought the car. They have also let me choose a local garage, given they are over 100 miles from me
