2017 F-pace. What are these

Just bought and F-Pace 2017 Petrol Porfolio,there are 2 carbon fibre type stickers? on the rear bumper.
Are they something to do with reverse camera,although they seem like something aftermarket as not colour coded

Look like stickers to cover up some scratches, possibly made when loading objects into the boot.

Yes thats what I was thinking too. They just are very symetrical. Like you say unless they cover up scratches,Or possibly one scratch and the other to match it up.

Maybe there used to be a stick-on boot lip cover and they were to stop the corners rubbing.

I would agree with the latter, better to balance it up, rather than just the odd sticker.
If you're not too bothered about a scratch being visible, take the sticker off and have a look.

Maybe the previous owner had a bike rack or similar on the back and that's where it used to rub?

Took the stickers off and revealed a deep scratch,badly touched up. The left one was just for balance,Got a chips away type person coming to give me quote.

I'm finding the bumpers particularly lacking in paint these days, just enough to cover the plastic.... not just Jag, both of my recent Q7's were/ and are easy to scratch and remove what little paint their is. No point putting a warp on it now, they need repainting....

Yes I agree the paint is extremely thin on the F-Pace, I complained in warranty period about micro-scratches that went through paint on rear quarters. Not stone chips mins so must have been from aerodynamics and dirt kicked up my other vehicles on motorways.
