Hello to all.... the covering on the steering wheel on my 2006 XK is starting to look a little shabby. Only cosmetic I know but the rest of the interior is immaculate so would like to try and dress it rather than put a wheel cover on it. Anyone on here had a similar issue and repaired it successful/used a product they would recommend ?

Many thanks - Martin

Mine is worn at 150k but not that bad.

It's really easy to swap the wheel and an XF one will work. I picked up a later wheel from the facelift X150 with the black bits instead of the silver plastic and need to get round to fitting it.

Not worth retrimming when a much less worn wheel is £40 tops. You might have to try a bit harder to find a grey one rather than black though!

Hi there

Thank for posting - yes I think you're right, a replacement is probably better. Some one said that teh level of damage is down to hand- sanitiser (I don't use it but the last owner may have) !! You're right about the grey wheel being harder to source - might go for the black wheel, always thought the current one looks a bit, well, cheap !

You know it's just occured to me that I totally forgot the steering wheel is heated on my X150 and I've no idea if the wheel I bought is heated or not....
