2019 VW Passat tdi Contaminated coolant
Discussion
It would explain the 20hr quote as it sludges up the heater matrix and other coolers. Also you often get a drop in coolant level just beforehand.
It's not a widespread issue but there have been quite a few reports across the various VAG ranges that have them. My 2018 Golf has one, there's a symbol on the coolant tank if it does.

Had oil contamination of coolant on an older B5 Passat that was caused by a failing oil/water intercooler. Probably took me 3 hours to change the faulty item, flush the cooling system and replenish/ bleed the system. Didn't change the oil as it was ok probably due to oil pressure forcing oil into the water and not vise versa.

Had the same on a 3.2, A3. Biggest job was getting access to the cooler but still only a morning's work.Gassing Station | Audi, Seat, Skoda & VW | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
