Wow VW make it hard!!
Just coming up to 3 years old and just over 40k for my 7.5 golf r estate.
It’s quite challenging and enough to put me off vw for life:
1. Service history is now all online. But it’s hard to find and no details as to what was done each time. I’ve owned the car since new and so have the receipts anyway. I can see this being painful when selling the car.
2. What service do I need. The info from vw is poor and so really hard to work out which service is required and what extras are required. VW don’t know and the online info is a mess. Haldex? DSG? Seems I need minor service (last time at 36k they did spark plugs etc and charged me quite a lot) and seems I need haldex oil change and filter clean. No dsg this time as 7.5s are every 60k. So I just called vw dealer to check. ......
3. VW seem to know less than me. The service guy didn’t know what a haldex is and kept saying ‘do you mean dsg?’. Eventually he understood that it’s the 4 wheel drive system but he has no idea about it’s servicing ie oil change and filter clean. They will have to investigate and call me back.
This might be be excuse I need to find an indie or change the car

Anyway....dropped car off at dealers this am. The girl in reception seemed quite clued up on the service schedules, prices etc.
The best thing is the check in experience. I used to hate the check in process ie having to wait on a sofa until someone invited me to a desk etc. Typically 1/2 hr of my life wasted. Covid check in process is slick and quick. Hope they keep this process.

Good luck. I know it's changed to Vertu recently, but after the service I received over a two year period I vowed I'd never use Huddersfield VW again. That's after buying and having cars serviced with them since 2001. The guys who work on the Service desks are fine, but the Sales team and the actual Technicians are next to useless.FWIW, your car should need DSG/Haldex and a minor service. Online service records aren't an issue, VW will divulge info to a buyer with your permission.

My last service there was fine. Expensive but fine. Shouldn’t be too hard for them to change oils etc I hope. I won’t be buying any cars from them as have a good relationship with Johnson’s in Birmingham.

I've had my Up GTI serviced at an Indy though. You just don't get a coffee and a comfy seat while you wait.

I'm reading here DSG is now 60k and in the US one it says 80k

Probably a bit late now, but on the Haldex there’s a very small, thimble sized filter that isn’t changed as part of the service.

If it’s a lease then don’t worry about it, but mine’s a keeper and I had a new one fitted.

Car back now. They did a minor service, fixed a broken bonnet catch (warranty) and did the ‘3 years old’ jobs ie haldex and brake fluid. I declined an air con service. Also declined rear brake pads. They are ‘90%’ worn but they want too much money. I’ll do it myself or get a local garage to do it. Just need the software. They didn’t change or clean the haldex pump filter. They were certain it shouldn’t be done and so I didn’t fight.
They confirmed that dsg for a 7.5 is at 60k.

Good to know, thank for the interval on the DSG too. Just another question, is your bonnet insulation hanging down? Mine seems to have shrunk and the drivers side back edge is hanging down.
Mine's an Aug 2018 model.
Mines a March 18 (delivery) and I have not noticed any issues with the insulation. I haven’t opened the bonnet for a couple of months. Mine's an Aug 2018 model.
Thanks Gazzab it's something that happened to my Mk5 Golf and seems to be quite common on the Mk7 and 7.5 and for the haldex filter clogging it seems to be dependent on how the car is used ie lots of motorway miles vs lots of launches and aggressive acceleration.
I'll get mine done by an indy this year as VW don't take the pump off, I've been through the workshop manual and it doesn't tell you to remove the pump and clean the filter. It's only about £100 to do and well worth it for peace of mind.

Try CLP in Sheffield, they have done loads of work on my Cupra ST 4 drive and can also update the VW service records i believe.
Also VW dealers don't clean the gauze when doing the Haldex service so indy is better in this respect.
I do my Oil every 5k
Haldex every 10k
DSG was done at 12.5k but this was probably overkill.

There’s a few videos on YouTube from Volkswizzard, if you can put up with the monotone presentation. He has done two Haldex pump changes. Worth a watch.
My local independent, Sunset VW (excellent) in Derby did the Haldex in my S3 at 45k. Audi dealer had previously done just oil at 39k. The filter was almost completely clogged.
If it’s a keeper it’s simple:
-Engine oil and filter very 10k
-DSG every 40k
-Haldex every 40k
Drop the sump at 50k and check the pick up pipe.
