Crafter Van Alarm Issue

A friend has acquired a VW crafter van (62/2012) which has a factory fitted alarm which is configured to auto-arm a few seconds after all the doors are closed even if it is not locked, obviously a commercial security feature for delivery vans. He's converting it into a campervan so this is not great and he would like to retain the alarm but disable this feature. There are no settings available via the dashboard so it is probably only configurable via VCDS but getting anyone to look at it is proving to be a challenge, local alarm specialists are not interested and the local VW dealership don't want to make the changes.

Anyone come across this before or know how this setting could be disabled?
