MK5 GTI coding

Hey guys,

I got my mk5 gti coded today. The beep don’t work when I lock and unlock the car why? It’s enabled but it don’t work. Has anyone faced this issue before? How could I make it work?

What beeps? The horn or alarm?

Knackered alarm sirens are common.

Does the alarm actually sound if you set it off? e.g. lock the car with window down, give it a minute then stick your head in. **warning - LOUD if it does work**

If the hazards flash but no siren then the sounder module is faulty. The same sounder makes the lock/unlock chirps. Had exactly this with my mk5 GTI some years back. New module fixed all for me - lives above one of the wheel arches in a riveted-on box, if I remember correctly.

Yeah I just tested the alarm it don’t work. Hazard lights flash but no noise.
