New Number plates - Rubber mounts underneath.

Hi All,

I have just bout some Gel number plates for my 16 plate A4 Avant as the old ones were tired.

The front is fine and was easily removed and will i will easily glue the new one down.

However, on the back plate the old ones were screwed to some plastic mounting 'things' which are quite high and i don't think i can remove them.

Can i remove them or will i have to build up the area with thicker tape to get over them?
