Passat inner rear door handle replacement

Hi, hoping someone can help. I’ve just bought a 59 reg Passat saloon with a broken inner rear door handle. Handle works from the outside, but the actual handle inside is snapped I.e. no handle to pull.
I’ve found tutorials online on how to remove the rear door panel, but then nothing that goes on to show the removal of the door handle part and replacement.
Any ideas please, or can anyone point me to a useful specific owners forum? I used to use Audisport.net for previous cars, is there a similar forum for VW?
