Hey guys,

Basically, I was looking for a cheap car and was about to buy a Skoda Fabia for £7,000 - my dad stepped in and stopped me from buying it (I'm 33 haha) and said he wasn't having me driving it and has said he'd rather go halves with me on a nicer car! Car I'm selling is a 2007 Mini Cooper S. So there you go, pretty lucky. But at the same time, I'm also not THAT bothered - I kinda like having cheaper cars.

Pointless back story over - I test drove a 3 series and an a4 and to my surprise - preferred the a4. Both 2017 cars.

I'm thinking an a4 in s line trim would be good - I currently commute 13 miles each way and it's mostly 30-50 mph roads - lots of traffic lights. Would petrol be better than diesel for my use? Out of the petrol engines - it's either the 1.4 or 2.0 tfsi in the years I'm looking at. Am I right in thinking the 2.0 litre is similar on fuel economy but quicker and therefore a nicer engine?

As a side note, are there any other must have options if I get the S line trim?

Many thanks,
Rich

Hmmm I’m kinda thinking about A5 S line 2.0tdi now as they’re not much more but I’d feel pretty cool driving it. Would this be a bad move with my type of driving?

Get the 2.0 petrol. Diesel like torque and economy wise it won’t be that far off the 1.4/1.5 than you think.

Thanks! I know the petrol 2.0 is the right choice, it’s a bit of a premium over the diesel ... I’ll update with what I do!

Drive an S-line before committing buying one.
Many people fing the suspension father harsh. Audi obviously agreed as SE suspension is offered as a ncost option on S-Line trim. Sport is an inbetween option.
