Evening all,

Been pondering the idea of getting out of my ED35 and into a new MK8 but fairly set on keeping it and doing a few nice tweaks to the chassis. Pretty happy with the power at the moment but feel chassis and brakes are a good place to start before going stage 1 etc.

What are people’s recommendations for chassis upgrades.

Looking at spending up to £1000 to get it running better.

Thanks

For the Mk5/6 the power flex wheel hop kit I believe makes a massive difference - helps putting the power down massively.

I think white line also do a similar kit

The R32 front brake upgrade is Good on the Edition 30 and carries over to the Edition 35 i believe.
Superpro anti lift kit is also very good. (other brands are available)
Suspension is difficult, do you want to lower slightly or leave oem?
Some choose just a set of lowering springs, i bought my Edition 30 with Eibach lowering springs on it and it was too low for my liking, also made the suspension a lot harsher.
I replaced them with a complete VWR spring/damper kit from Awesome Gti, which gave a more subtle drop and didnt compromise the ride quality.
Ive also started replacing all the other rubber suspension bushes to oem rubber, have completed the front and will do the rear later in the year.

Cheers for the replies both.

Have looked at the Anti Lift Kits and will likely go down this route as a starting point.

Having owned an ED30 on Eibach springs in the past I'm wanting to keep the ride height stock as I do daily the car and even though the car does have DCC I still prefer a fairly smooth ride day to day.

From my reading it seems as though the ARB's are a good option too and not silly expensive for a decent upgrade so will definitely look at doing this.

the car is probably getting to the stage where I'd go for new bushes, anti lift kit, rear anti roll bar and a geometry setup before looking into strut/spring upgrades.

The Bilstein b12 and koni adjustable shocks with Eibach springs are highly recommended as are the VW Motorsport kit that has already been mentioned.

Arb upgrades are supposed to be very good.
I've not done them personally as I don't think I'd see the benefit for purely road use and the way I drive.
