My girlfriend has just bought one. I think the power steering feels heavy, very much like my old BMW E36.

I like it but it was a surprise after my current Duster which feels like the steering wheel isn't connected to anything hehe

Just wanted to check that they are all like this.....or is there something wrong?

Ta.

Dear Mods

I stuck this in General Gassing as it will be seen a lot and I was looking for a quick answer, as well as the usual PH ribbing hehe

The traffic in this forum looks very slow and I can't imagine is at all busy. Would you be so kind as to move it back into General Gassing.

Many thanks Croyde.

I presume that the tyre pressures have been checked ? Tyres getting near to the limit on tread depth can make the steering feel heavier.

I have a Skoda Fabia 1.2 and the power steering on that is fairly weighty. Certainly heavier than on similar superminis.

You should try it with the electric power steering disconnected. It is barely moveable!

Cheers folks. Front tyres do look a bit down despite the garage saying they've just 'serviced' it.

I'll check the pressures now.

You can ask someone to change coding for steering assist to make it lighter. Just need someone with vcds or other tool to change coding.ook on YouTube for info.
