2015 Audi MMI 3G - Help me understand connected services
Discussion
We've just picked up a 2015 Audi Q3 with the high technology pack which I understand consists of a larger higher resolution screen and colour screen between the dials.
When we picked it up, the Sat Nav was showing Google Earth satellite imagery which looked pretty awesome, but on the journey home I ejected the sim card that was in it to see if an annoying message about a licence being expired stopped..
After putting the sim card back in Google Earth imagery was really blurred as if it isn't downloaded and it hasn't come back. I have tried a spare Virgin Sim we have with decent data but it hasn't changed.
If I click on google earth in the sat nav settings, i get the splash screen with google earth "please wait" but it doesn't seem to get past that. I have left it up on screen for at least 20m although i have seen online that some people have in some cases had it longer.
My main priority is i'd like to get that satellite imagery back - what is the best process to follow to do this? As a starter, I will be trying to determine if the sim card is downloading google stuff by resetting the data counter to rule out whether it is just frozen on that "please wait" screen rather than downloading a massive file slowly.

Audi have recently stopped providing Google maps for cars before MY2018. I have a MY2017 A6 Avant and have lost the Google view. An option is Car Play and use their maps...
Yes I have been reading as such but understand an alternative can be applied at the dealer. It doesn’t have car play to my knowledge - the main plus seems to be visual on google but it was really nice to look at . I wonder now if the area we originally drove in was cached and our local area isn’t
