As above, my Wife has a naff all optioned MY13 A4 Avant with this stereo system (I'm unsure which version this is):

We currently have a usb drive loaded up with music from 7 years ago running in the glovebox, but would like to be able to stream Spotify via this instead.

I know this is possible, but amazon reviews are giving me conflicting info...

I need:

Lightning adaptor to glovebox cable.
Ability to send audio to stereo.
Ability to charge iPhone at the same time (not the end of the world if not possible).
Will last more than a few weeks (amazon reviews showing iffy durability).

TIA

Doh, just realised it’s a 12 plate, if that makes any difference.

In my a4 avant (65 plate, same stereo but had built in memory) I just bluetoothed Spotify and plugged my phone in the USB adaptor.

No faffing and worked with normal controls etc to skip tracks.

I will revisit the Bluetooth streaming, but I’m pretty sure I tried in the past and our version doesn’t support it.

Tried it last night, definitely doesn't support bluetooth streaming.

Hi There

Not sure if you are sorted now....

But what you have there is MMI high 3G+, the most advanced, up to date MMI they ever fitted to the B8 platform, and new for B8.5 . I can tell this by the black glossy finish on the front.

This is the same model I had on my 63 plate A4, and it definitely does support Bluetooth streaming, as I used it frequently, i think you need to turn on Bluetooth Audio player in the settings though to make it appear as a useable input

I think this was the only model MMI in the whole B8 life cycle that did support it, earlier models didn't even have bluetooth at all, the later ones had calling but not audio, and this model finally had both. (speaking as someone who had 5 B8s + B8.5s in the family through the years in the past!)

Thanks

Thanks for this, although no longer an issue. The car is leaving us on Friday to be replaced by a Skoda Superb Estate, but thanks for coming back in depth.

Off topic, but I had a 2008 (B8) A5, bluetooth for the phone was indeed an optional extra at around £200 but what was less impressive was than in order to get ipod connectivity you needed to specify at Audi Music interface at something like £250 which was only available with satellite navigation at a further £2,000 so something that probably was standard on a Ford Fiesta cost over £2k.

Worst of all was that the glovebox light was not standard and only included as part of the "internal illumination pack" rolleyes
