Hi guys,

Thought a buckled/twisted wheel was causing a slight vibration and noise on my car. The noise gets louder as I go faster. Another thought was wheel bearing. Wheel bearing is ok. I changed my wheels for some new ones, just went out to see if all was ok but the problem is still there, possibly worse with the spacers on also. It’s like a hum, not consistent but with a slight pause in between

Tracking and alignment all seems fine.

I’ve got new discs and pads going on Friday but has anybody a clue of what else it could be? Really starting to annoy me now. I’ve also had the car looked over by a local specialist where it’s going back on Friday for the discs and pads

Look at the inside edges of the rear tyres? Have they gone like 50 pence piece shaped?

I've driven a Golf R with some sort of rear-differential fault that did similar. It was badly modified and had seemingly been driven very hard.

I can offer no more useful info than that I'm afraid; the owner returned it to the supplying dealer rather than look any further into it.
