Good afternoon all, I am trying to advise my son re buying a car suitable for child number 3 arriving in November (the other 2 are 3 year old twins). He has decided that he wants a 7 seat Kodiaq and, being in London, thinks that the 1.5 petrol is the best option. From what I can see, a 30,000 mile 3 to 4 year old one looks to be around the £22k mark according to Autotrader classifieds. Against that a discounted new one looks to be potentially available around the £29-30k mark.
So to my mind a new one is a far better option. He is looking at buying outright using a bank loan for part of the cost. Am I thinking correctly here ?
Many thanks in advance,
Charles

Could lease one for £3k down and £300 a month? Maybe better?

Thanks CH, he specifically doesn't want to lease though.

Coming from a car salesman, due to supply issues, used cars are expensive at the moment so the new car is better value. Downside is he'd probably have to wait for the new one, where as the used he could have immediately, if he can wait, that would be the best option.

You'll probably find that online price includes a finance deposit contribution in it, so he would have to finance it in some way.

Discussion on lead times on the Briskoda forum. Also they seem to be removing options or bundling individual options into expensive packs compared to last year's range.

(Very happy with my year-old Kodiaq Scout btw)
