The Mk 6 R was built from 2010 to 2012 and when we acquired ours all those years ago the main dealer told us that each UK dealer was only allocated 12 per year. Now does anybody know if that was true or part of the sales pitch? Must admit have never seen another one. If true does anybody know how many were originally registered in UK and how many are left?
Ours has recently passed 100k and has been faultless.

Thanks.

I don't know how accurate this is but it's showing just a couple of hundred over 3 years

Nice, any pics?

Don't think I've seen any around on the roads, would make a nice change from seeing the common as muck Mk7 variants.

There's 26 for sale on auto trader, by the looks of it. Quite a high proportion, assuming the how many left numbers are about right.

I did look at these before upping my budget for a MK7 GTI PP, but at the time the Mk6 R was much harder to find on the used market.
