2002 Ibiza ECU location

My aunt (who is in her 70s) has been told that she needs a new ECU. The garage has told her it’s located in the dash and wants to charge a day and a half labour and to scrap the car because it’s not worth doing it.

I think it’s bks but can someone confirm that it’s in the engine bay please. Also, how long it would take to swap.

Most VAG motors have them in the engine bay or under the trim below the wipers.
