Golf GTI mk8 running costs?

If any of you have a Golf GTI mk8 can you give an indication on running costs?

A quick scan online shows ~£650 Service Plan costs (2 services), and ~£300 for years extended warranty. Tires also seem relatively cheap for the 18s.

I am comparing this to an Octavia vRS and Audi A4.

2.0 TSI can be amazingly frugal to be fair, 40+MPG isn't difficult in mixed driving.

The biggest cost is when you wrap it round a tree trying to adjust the temperature at night!

Yes, the interface is awful. Buy an older Golf instead, they are better.

I’m likely to keep it ~8 years so am not so concerned about this.

Older golfs have very dated interiors now so I wouldn’t buy one.

Agreed. Mk7.5 is peak Golf.

Agreed. Mk7.5 is peak Golf.

As someone with a mk8 GTI CS, who once had a mk7 R, peak Golf definately was 7.5 and that includes the interior.
