R8 (V10) - can it be used as a daily driver?
Discussion
Upper teens on fuel probably realistic; single figures if you're on it, into the 20s at a cruise. The V10 is many things, but it can't even spell frugal. You could probably nurse it to 30MPG with the cruise on and AC off at 46 MPH, but where's the fun in that?
Slightly less practical than a 911. Long doors, restricted boot/storage. Rear visibility annoying on occasion. More theatrical/special feeling than the Porsche, however.
If you can accept high running costs then I think only you can decide if it will suit you as an every day car. Familiarity might take away some of the specialness, but then there's something to be said for driving something special every day too. I assume you've access to another car for use during breakages, longer service visits etc.

Mine is 4 years old and is one of the last performance models.
Not a daily though.
Fuel consumption over the year averages 22.
For comparison my V8 Dark Horse which is a daily also does 22 on average.
For short breaks the R8 is fine and I had a bag set made up by Bagworld for the front luggage space.
Perfectly easy to use as a daily though other than perhaps trying to fit in some car park spaces but then the Mustang isn't exactly small.
