VW Service in London

Need to get my 1992 GTI serviced. Wasn't too impressed last time around with the main dealers and their "value for money" service. Can anybody suggest a trustworthy independent in the London area?

I wouldn't recommend Chapman Audi/VW in St. Albans. I took the car in for a wheel geom. check/re-align. They ended up having my car all day, after telling me when I dropped it off that it'd be an hour. Wouldn't have minded but they found nothing wrong with it. Got the car home to find the paint on 6" of driver's door trailing edge had been chipped off where it'd obviously been opened in to a wall. I won't be going there again.

I would be interested to know of any good indies in the Herts/N London area though.

You could try TFL Motor Group in Wimbledon, They Specialise in VW cars and give me a good service. Been to a VW Dealer once, never again !!

Any particular side of London? I use Seaspray motors in Uxbridge, tin shed type garage, run by an old boy.

And I can recommend Kwikas in Limehouse ... very rough, but they know their VW's and offer good quality workmanship. Just don't expect politeness or cleanliness!
