Gents

Can anyone help. The engine warning light has come on. I have repaired the fault. Does anyone know how to reset the warning light?

Is it just a case of looping out the jumper settings? if so which ones?

cheers

Assuming you have one of the Mk4 Golfs/Boras do this . . .

Disconnect the battery for half an hour.
This will clear the faults.

When you reconnect, turn he key to position 1.
You'll hear a whirring sound from the engine bay which is the throttle body aligning itself.

Once this stops (normally a couple of minutes) start the car as normal.
Apparently it takes a few days for the ECU to learn your drving style again.

I've done this a couple of times now.

I got the information from www.ukmkivs.net

Hope this helps

They also self-reset after a certain number of engine starts.

I swapped a coil pack on the Octavia RS just before i sold it, the engine check light went off after a week or so.
