Golf 1.8 turbo mods???

Hi

I've just bought a Golf Gti 1.8T 150 bhp version, I'm looking for some advice on what Engine Mods I can do to it to get it running about 225 bhp. I'm getting it remapped in a couple of weeks and have been told this can add an extra 30% bhp. What else can I do?

Lots of different engines...

What year is it?

and early AGU will get close to 200BHP froma remamp/exhaust combo. A later car with T03s Turbo can get 220-230 from just a custom remap, Jabbasport have had some very impressive results.

Also you'll be needing to do somethign with suspension!

Has it got a throttle cable? Easiest difference to spot.

Either way 200 is easily achievable but is close to the limit of the standard turbo charger. Got 3k to spend? 320BHP is available if you have ;-)

This car will almost certainly have the older ecu which needs to be removed.
It has a 29f200 psop flash memory and gains on the stock car with this map is around 190-195hp.

With bigger turbo, bigger intercooler you can see 225hp.

Also check the plugs, the servicing schedules for these are useless, change the plugs every 12 months without fail, 40k on a high performance engine like this is not enough.

Agree with Chipped on the plugs, I change mine every service I do, cheap as chips from G&S and the ones that come out definately looks past their best.

I have a 20v turbo in my polo ( mid mounted ) and it runs 325 bhp on engine It has nitrous as well but haven't tried it yet.

Do you know the cost of getting forged pistons rods etc ?
