Hi Mr F,
I have recently bought an RS6, and I'm sure that the Cerbera is cheaper to run
Although having bought the RS6, I have decided to sell the Cerb, as it's nearly as much fun!
Regarding pitfalls, I think the RS4 uses the same suspension setup (DRC) as the RS6, from what I have read both on PH and RS246.com. The DRC system is very fragile & costly to replace if not under warranty.Have a look at RS246.com plenty of info there, althought the site has been down for aw hile just lately.
I'm sure someone will be along with more info on actual running costs.

I was trying to access RS246 but as you say, its down, so I thought a post here might enlighten me a bit.
RS6 running cost must be high then, my Cerb has eaten into £9k in the last 18 months, but mostly in my persuit of 440/450bhp

Had my RS4 for around a month.
Costs - Services apparently is about every 15 - 20 k
My insurance was £780 pa (tracker needed)
Fuel - Get upto 24mpg down to 14 mpg - overall so far 19.8 mpg over 700 miles, mainly urban.
Regards mark
PS it's better than you could imagine!!!

Just over 2 weeks ownership on mine, only cost worries I have are petrol (£120 a week!) and depreciation
500 miles a week... OMG DePn will be hugh...Mr F

tyres will go at roughly the same time so expect £1k+ evry 9-12k miles, depending on ho yuo drive of course.
the services are about 1yr to 18 months on the variable and will be about £350-450 depending on if you but your own oil.
the biggest cost is a full tank of the premium stuff every 220-320 miles or a lot less if you drive in town a lot. 63 litre tank so about £65 to fill it up.
What ever it costs it is entirely worth it.

had mine 4 months and 4k miles
Costs are petrol (averaging 19mpg but I do a lot of London driving), insurance at £800 incl inexperienced wife (driving wise!) and park on street in London.
My maintenance, all wear and tear items and tyres cost £18 per month
How do you work out maintainance to be only £18 per month?Costs are petrol (averaging 19mpg but I do a lot of London driving), insurance at £800 incl inexperienced wife (driving wise!) and park on street in London.

If you assume 1k miles per month, and a full set of tyres last 20k miles (you wish), tyres at £300 a corner (reasonable?), then that is £60 per month just in rubber.
Did I miss something?

yes, you missed that a) I do 6k miles pa, and b) Audi fixed cost maintenance quotes are bizarre. If you assume 1k miles per month, and a full set of tyres last 20k miles (you wish), tyres at £300 a corner (reasonable?), then that is £60 per month just in rubber.

I pay £17.99 per month on an RS4 which would not even cover the cost of my annual service, yet includes all replacement parts incl. wear and tear and my tyres. Happy days!
