Passat Electrics Strangeness!!!

Have not driven my Passat for a couple of weeks due to illness. It's a 99 Turbo estate with 75000 on the clock. It's been on the drive in the rain.

Just went out today and the rear tailgate won't unlock with the blipper (although all the doors do), the electric windows and mirros don't work but the remote fuel cap does and they are al on the same fuse.

WTF is going on?

Has there been a water leak into the interior of the car? Particularly the passanger front footwell? I've had it plenty of times where the plenum chamber blocks up and leaks in to the car. There are soldered connections in the N/S/F footwell that are prone to corrosion as they're only protected by insulation tape.

Thanks Mr V. Unfortunately no leaks at all!!!!

The car is in for a service next week so will have to get them t o take a look!

its worth pulling the carpet back and having a look,the water soaks into the sound proofing and sometimes you wont notice it in the carpet
