audi cabriolet , hood not working any ideas please???

ive checked the fuses , are these known for any particular fault , press the hood button and the windows go down , the light on the dash does not flash so its not indicating a fault , help required !!!

80 cabrio or A4 cabrio?

its a 80 cab , 1998 s reg 1.8 .

From what i remember it's usually the wiring loom through the boot that causes problems for the hood on the 80 cab. I did a load of reading up on it when i was looking to buy one, i think there are aftermarket kits available to replace the loom and refurmb the hydraulic pump. Not sure where from though, have a look at hte owners club forums (google) and there should be details around as i found them quite easily i seem to remember.

Easiest fault to fix is to check the hydraulic fluid in the rams.

I suspect yours are empty.

Local dealer should be able to fix quickly and cheaply.
