Simple really. Audi only ever do limited end of life production runs for RS models, as per B5 RS4, C6 RS6 & now B7 RS4, The new A4 is due to arrive sometime around the middle of 2008 & already the new RS6 si being tooled up on the Quattro GmbH production line. That is likely to run for an 18mth production life, then hpefully the new RS5 will take it's place, again 18mths & then the new new RS4 will start production.

Audi will only ever produce 1 RS model at a time, it's a heritage thing.

I heard in the UK their were 500 Salons, 400 Avants & 100 Cabs (saloons & avants could be the other way round). No idea on overall global numbers, but i'd hazard a guess at 5000-8000.

As for Production, that IIRC ran from Jan 2006 - June 2007.
