Looking at a 2019 Arona.

Got the service records and confirmed that info with the 2nd dealer who serviced it 2021 to 2024

But the 1st dealer who I've been told did the 2020 service will not play ball and quotes GDPR, the the reason I'm not trusting in the records on the 1st service is the date is a Sunday and is the exact same day as the next service exactly one year later and is a easy modified in paint cropped screen shot so spidey sense is tingling.

Is there any way to check the dealer service history online?

Yes, but it isn't public. What's the registration?

Erwin only has a 10 day add/edit window; cannot backdate more than 10 days or edit more than 10 days post creation.

Nothing post 21. You'll be reliant on bits of paper if anything.

Nice I'm leaning towards the 1st car, much better service history and apparent the 1.5 manual is lousy at low speed town traffic.

Was there an ECU update for that with 1.5s? I remember reading about it but don't have any personal experience.

I have completely fallen out of love with the Suzuki Swift that I bought,

It's a bit too much old school GTI for my liking

So now back to looking at aronas

Looking at FV19NMO

I was told by a SEAT dealer that there are 2 different systems where the service history could be recorded. This came about when a SEAT dealer told me the previous years service hadn't been done. I knew this was wrong as I'd taken the car to another SEAT dealer for that service. When I told the dealer this, they came up with the different systems explanation.

There's ELSA Pro which the Service Department use and also VMS which is a sales and service tool, there's usually more on ELSA than VMS.

That and different groups/dealers can use their own internal CRM/invoice software unrelated to the manufacturer's. If the fleshy object behind the desk invoices it but neglects to upload the details to manufacturer database then forever will said invoice stay hidden.

I viewed a Leon at a SEAT dealer that had a big mileage swing between the 1st and 3rd service. Their explanation was the service job number had been entered on the system by mistake, instead of the mileage on the 2nd service. And that it wasn't possible to correct that on the system.

I've seen that more than once; it is possible (albeit a complete faff) to correct. I can't offer any guidance on doing it as Lexcom (who run Erwin) have denied me exactly this request. I believe the request needs to come from somewhere within VW.

The SEAT dealer was prepared to state in writing that's what had happened. And I guess if it turned out they were wrong, they would be in the do do. Which is the most accurate system to check the total mileage travelled.
