Skoda Bump Stop Daft Situation!

My 24 plate Skoda started making a horrible knocking noise from the front suspension over the weekend.
I called Skoda this morning, but they are booked up until September so they suggested I called their breakdown service.
Nice chap appeared after an hour & thoroughly checked everything, including engine mounts etc.
Turns out, the bump stops had not been removed during the original PDI. Car has done almost 20k miles, so how this only came to light now is anybody's guess!

Pretty common unfortunately. I assume the dealers are paying peanuts, because they're getting monkeys.

Had it on my A6, brand new and i had to take it back next day. They're famous for it. How yours did it for that milage is puzzling.

Nothing new - I had the same thing happen in 1986 on a company car I took over in a new job. A mile up the road and going around a roundabout it was instantly obvious something was seriously wrong - the car just slid sideways.

Incredibly someone had driven the car for 20K in 6mths and either not noticed or thought the way it drove was normal.

A very very long time ago , I appear to have become old .
I had a new MG Montego, I worked for a car rental company. It did not drive like the others I had driven. This was because it only had a front spring fitted on the offside. I collected it with about 15 miles on it how on earth the very first driver didn't notice. As soon as I touched the brakes it headed for the pavement.

Seems to be typical of vw group cars.
