fan quit. checked fuse etc. i have replace amp on control dash checked ribbon cable checked rheostat speed control and circuit but i have no circuit drawing help needed. The enviro control unit unit looks good.
looks like speed control of the fan motor is by switching the supply or ground similar to VFD PRF (PWM) .I read somewhere that ground is switched
that being case i have no 12v at the solid state device switch but ground on the other side of the device indicating that there is open circuit on the motor or on -ve from the motor.. need now to get at the motor. Point is requesting any guidance etc i will buss out from the fuse but identifying cabling tracing will involve removing battery probably dropping fuse box. How is access to motor achieved?
cheers jim

Pre cat or later?
The pre cat heater motor is in the void under the NS headlight.
The later cars have it directly attached to the heater matrix box

This refers to the later cars with the fan in the wing...just in front of the door hinges.

Hope it helps.

You can get to the fan connection in the passenger footwell, unplug it to simply supply 12 volts. If it works it’s fine . So replacing the power transistor didn’t work ?
From memory, it’s the negative that has the control, ie the motor sees 12 positive and the controller varies the negative. The power transistor is a little sensitive !
