My 95 Griff passenger wing mirror has broken as shown in the pictures below. It looks like the internal mirror structure but thought I would ask before attempting any repair.


Are spares available for this or is it fubar?

I had the same issue several years ago and kept the broken parts.
Here is a photograph of the cast aluminium back part of the wingmirror with a 15mm whole in where part of the casting and a stud has been wrenched off. The next photo is of the aluminium post with the circular part still attached. It is the post that is designed to fail.
Finally a spare new post.

Mine has broken on the hole which is shown complete on your picture. The cast stalk seems ok. Mine I think the plastic has just got brittle with age. My hulking doberman clonked it with his head and the mirror simply fell off

Oh right. So the interior frame of the mirror is cast ali not plastic

That’s right. All the support parts are Ali.
Here is a photo of the part.


Here’s another showing the opening into which the repair piece fits.

I’ve not used this piece but as I see it you have to fold it to suit the frame then either glue, screw or rivet it into position.
