Stepper motor aka Air control valve aka Idle speed control.
Discussion
The washer is missing from mine and I've been using PTFE instead but have now fitted an 'O' ring because the motor tends to work loose with just hand tightening.
Size 20mm ID x 3mm O Ring Nitrile 90

Is the lower id on the stepper A2631, because as in the photo the marks are smudged on mine?
I've searched but can't find an original gasket/washer, do they exist?

The size of the Hex' is 32mm, and no I didn't overtighten it, I run it up hand tight and then one flat more with the little spanner.

I tried using an o seal but it must have held the valve too far away from the seat so took a lot longer to control the idle. I ditched it and used ptfe tape and it works great now.
I've yet to run the engine since changing from PTFE tape to an O ring, I'll do it and see what happens, I would have thought the ECU would re-learn the new position though.

It will but there is only a limited amount of travel (200 pulses) if it needs to extend further than that there will be an error code.I got some suitable sized fibre washers from ebay - just a few pounds for 5 or 10 washers, as I recall.
