Rocker Cover Gaskets

I decided to renew the rocker gaskets and thought that the NS rocker would be a pain with having to remove the plenum and accelerator linkage etc.
But then tackled the Offside, what a PITA with heater pipes, fuel hoses etc. all preventing the rocker releasing. I soon realised why some owners have re-routed the two steel coolant pipes to get them well clear of the rocker cover. Am in the process of fabricating some 15 mm copper pipe and will secure it to the inner wing for one heater feed the other can just run along the plenum as a silicon hose.

Lots of us have , saves a lot of faff and clutter and filling burping far easier

I wonder could someone post up a guide on this, parts needed etc.
I’m thinking of doing it, I’m guessing it can be cobbled together with some 15 mm copper pipe etc but would prefer to know for sure.

5/8 16mm Stainless would be a better job IMO , I used stainless as its lovely to weld and I wanted it bracketed and secured front to rear on the inlet manifold I taped the underside of the inlet manifold to take 1/2 BSPT threads/fittings

Yes agreed SS much preferred but I had plenty of CU pipe around and it is easy to bend so will use that and paint it.

Quite a fiddle getting all the bends accurate!

Heater pipes re-routed now.

Not as elegant as some other owners have managed but it functions OK and the OS rocker cover is now easily accessible.
