Hi,

What is the best way to check if my Steel Spark Plug Extenders are fitted with a Resistor?

Main reason for the question is if I have both Plugs and Caps with Resistors could this be an issue?

Thanks

Steve

Measure the resistance with a test meter from the HT connector to the plug connector- If they are near 0 ohms the are non resistive- resistive ones will be in the thousands of ohms range.

Hi Mark,

I will give this a try tomorrow, I guess the main question was about doubling up on Plug & Cap Resistance being an issue!?

Regards

Depends what leads you have- if you are running Magnecores its a good idea to have extra resistance, other wise with stock leads you dont need resistive caps or plugs, especially considering the RV8 leads are quite long and the resistance goes up with lead lengths. The extra resistance in caps and leads reduces the interference and spikes the ignition system produces, but if you are running the stock ECU, its not prone to glitching anyway. Some of the aftermarket ECU units may be more sensitive.
