I purchased a Griffith project several months ago. I paid for the vehicle in full but have not had the money returned; this was circa July. The registration of the vehicle is J786 CNW. It was advertised via ebay and has made a few appearances on the forum.

The person in question is based in Taunton, Somerset and has involvement in some pretty high profile Griffith projects. I have visited the area twice to retrieve the vehicle and countless phone calls have been made to no avail.

If anyone can help ascertain the whereabouts of the vehicle it would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Chris

Just to be clear ..you paid for the car but do not have it in your possession as yet?
Asked for return of moneys paid but have received nothing?

To clarify, the return of the money was agreed and I was told it had been sent from an offshore account. This was towards the end of July and I am yet to see a penny. The seller has been obstructive and has no intention of returning the money, hence why I am persuing the car itself.

And since July you have been chasing the money owed? No offence but by now I would have involved much more than the internet police ..

I have been persuing the money in a variety of ways and have dedicated a lot of time finding out more about the seller, some of which is very interesting.

I would rather not discuss my actions on an open forum for obvious reasons.

Understand your position totally as I and another PH'er, were in a similar situation last year having both 'bought' the same car. You will have a tough battle to get your money back if our experience is anything to go by.

The lesson for all is that there are now some low lifes out there on the fringes of the TVR world so either deal with a garage with a good reputation to lose, or don't let any significant sums of money change hands until you physically have the car ready to take away.

Thanks for your replies. I have been taking steps to get my money back, every penny is traceable so that is not an issue. At the moment I would simply like to track the vehicle down; I own it!

I will be away from the computer for a few days, any comments or PM's would be appreciated and I will respond asap.

All the best,

Chris

Update: Still no contact made by the coward that has defrauded me of a good few grand, plus expenses.

Regarding the seller, I will put out all the information I have on him, past and present; very interesting stuff.

I doubt it will be beneficial to him . . . If he cares about his reputation and/or possess the instinct of self-preservation, making contact with me is necessary to avoid the sh*t storm coming his way.

Thanks to honest TVR owners, I now have an idea as to who's got the car. They also need to be aware that this problem won't go away.

Again, any information via this thread or PM will be appreciated.

Id be carefull posting up any info you have on a public site like PH, it will most certainly be removed and the thread locked by haymarket ....
I do however wish you well in gaining what's rightfully yours.

Thanks for your concern.

I will only put forward information that has been in the public domain. This is an individual, not a business and I am yet to name him or any other scoundrel.

Me sitting behind a computer will become the least of his worries.

What I have are a very particular set of skills, skills I have acquired over a very long career, skills that make me a nightmare for people like them. If they let my TVR go now, that will be end of it, I will not look for them, I will not pursue them. But if they don't, I will look for them, I will find them and censored!
Good Luck!

No really good luck! Hope everything works out for you.

Going by the fact the car seems to have been sold to a number of people, is the car with the seller or some other poor sod thats bought it?

if it has been sold to someone who has it, then surely your down to chasing the seller only, as the title will have been transfered?, and its another buyers fault / problem.

nightmare for everyone involved by the sound of it, and its the seller you should be chasing..

I agree Graham, although it is more complex than that. If I sold you my Cerbera, refused to hand over ownership and then gave/sold it to a friend, I think you'd be chasing the pair of us and rightly so. Speaking hypothetically of course.

Scorcher, reading between the lines slightly but made me chuckle.

I'm amazed at how pathetic this guy is, he's like Mike Tyson on the phone but when it comes to discussing the issue face to face he scarpers like a scared rabbit. At 47 ish he still uses his mother's bank account, then hides behind mummy and expects her to deal with his issues. I'm still in awe of his cowardly nature, it's award winning!
