has anyone replaced the allen cap screws with bolts at all.. its hard to get the allen key in (even a cut down one) .. and hard to get them tight?.. i assume anu HT bolt will do the job
John, not very helpful to your question but to be honest I was going to replace the allen cap head screws with the same but make up a special cut down allen key with a very long handle, because one of those screws is a right barsteward to get on and off. To get it off I cut down an allen key and used a big hammer. Luckily it worked. I'm assuming you have done the same.
It's a toss up, replace cap heads with hex or make yourself up a very shallow allen key with a long handle. Pete

I know what you mean.. but I'm not sure you'll get the leverage required with a long handled allen key?... and what happens if the head rounds out!.. you can't get straight on to drill the bugger out?....
Agreed. I can't see any reason why you can't use a hex head bolt. PeteForums | Griffith | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
