Anyone know this Griff G9FTH?
Discussion
Hi,
Just popped over from the Cerbera forum.
Been keeping an eye on the Griffs lately, because I really want one in my life at some point. (seems like an ideal garage
)
Either I want a dirt cheap project or I want 'the right one'
Now I think i've found 'the right one' right here in the classifieds --> http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/t...
Looks like an extremely well looked after example with lots of upgrades
I'm just trying to find some feedback about the car, as it has proven useful with the Cerbs a well.
I must admit I haven't contacted the owner yet, but just wanted to see if it's known here
Thanks!

The box was rebuilt with the genuine borgwarner 3 piece world class baulk ring rather than the earlier bronzed NWC T5 baulk sets that you can buy from the states for less than a quarter of the cost that give a more stickier shift, bearings were SKF high load\temp the caged rollers and thrust bearings were also replaced, oil is T5 specific royal purple. I stripped a 4 ltr 1995 Chimera T5 box a few years ago prior to fitting to a cobra replica, it had early innards in a later case and the box had never been stripped before so god knows where TVR bought it from? This is the lightest T5 shift I have ever used.

Sounds like a dream Mark

Could you elaborate what kind of power a 5.4 puts down?
Or do you have a dyno or something

There is about 20 dyno prints but usually around 350 bhp with 375 ftlb. Out of interest the first plot with the standard 5ltr it started at around 265 bhp and after each mod you have ever increasing printouts. This is Bruce's car and a very sad forced sale. He is one of the finest engineers I have ever met and can be seen on every part of this car.
