Do your bonnet rollers actually roll?
Discussion
Mine are bolted in so tight there is no way they will roll, and with them loosened off enough to roll they rub against the edge of the bonnet and feel a bit, well crap if I'm honest.
I've altered my bonnet stay but the worn rollers bug me so I'm considering redesigning things and wondered if your rollers actually roll and if there is a spacer or something against the outside edge of the bonnet which stops them just being wobbly

Mines (factory original) didn't roll. Fitted a small spacer between the metal bush in the roller and the bonnet.
Prevents rubbing the bonnet and keeps them rolling.
At first the washer was too thick, the total width was too much and the rollers wouldn't fit between the bodywork.

Well Mr B funny you should say that mine were all worn out so I ordered some lovely black nylon bar and made some for my new bonnet :-) when I get round to fitting it lol I've altered my bonnet stay but the worn rollers bug me so I'm considering redesigning things and wondered if your rollers actually roll and if there is a spacer or something against the outside edge of the bonnet which stops them just being wobbly
Ste.
I've got;
New rollers + bushes
The treads in the bonnet stay crossmember aren't worn, hence no wobbly rollers
Bronze spacers between the bonnet and the rollers (lubed with a little silicon spray)
AND the bottom of the travelways of the rollers have been applied with a little smeared liquid gasket (allow for curing) This 'abrades' the travelways and makes the rollers...erm...roll/the rollers don't wear and neither does the fibreglass of the travelways !
That said, I would like to re-design the bonnet stay itself (winter job, too busy driving at the mo !)
