I don't think this is original, even on a pre-cat, or is it?

It has been refurbed and a resin coat added, which is probably Leven. They do peel after a while as Andreas did. You just need to paint the low parts black and the Griffith part silver. No resin.
Did you look at mine at BBWF?

Is that a shopping bag between your feet? Did this come from the link I sent you?

No I didn't spot yours Paul.
I've been nerdy-like looking at other badges but haven't seen a Griffith badge without the 500 on the bottom which looked like this, even with the gel peeled off.

Err, yes, I'd been sweet shopping in Poundland!

I've got the badge you pointed me at Bob, but it won't fit on the backing plate shown because of the raised lettering.
So I was trying to work out my options.
There is a plain backing plate on the racetech website, which I think is off the T cars
There is also a Griffith badge on there for an eye watering £100 so I wondered if mine was an original / Leven badge which I could refurb or an aftermarket thing I should bin and start looking for an original one.

Shouldn't be a backing plate, just direct bolted onto the bodywork.
Should (I think) have 2 studs like the badge on the front end, but never took mine off.
If yours has you should be able to refurb it but don't put the resin back on. Yes Racetech do a badge, non 500, so it should look like that.

I had my TVR & GRIFFITH badges refurbished by Leven/PPC three years ago now and they are still as good as the day I fitted them. No resin lifting or anything, so wondering if they changed their processor at some time? Regards, Pete

I have had my badges done by them, really pleased with the end result. They have not been on the car long, so not sure about the longevity of the resin.
